Dhakuakhana College’s Principal suspended

The Principal of Dhakuakhana College has been suspended pertaining to the case of suicide of a student identified as Dulen Chutia.

Dulen's death had created a tensed situation on September 13 during which the students' community had alleged the Principal and teacher of psychological and physical assault upon the student.

The deceased student was a higher secondary first year student of the college.

Dulen had allegedly played a prank on a fellow classmate, who complained it to the teacher. Later, the Principal along with the teacher harassed him at his office. Unable to bear the embarrassment, Dulen committed suicide after returning to his room.

There were also protests held after the student's death in front of the Dhakuakhana Police station.
