A Dhakuakhana College student's death had created a tensed situation in the area.

The student identified as one Dulen Chutia was a higher secondary first year student of the college.

Allegedly, Dulen had played a prank on a fellow classmate, who complained it to the teacher. Later, the teacher and Principal harrased him at the principal's office.Unable to bear the embarassment, Dulen committed suicide after returning to his room.

The students' community has alleged the Principal and teacher of psychological and physical assault upon the student. In context of the incident, students protested in front of the Dhakuakhana Police Station and the Principal's residence.
