A day after Dhubri-based journalist Rajiv Sharma was arrested by the Police, the Home Department of Assam – of which CM Sarbananda Sonowal is in charge – has transferred Dhubri SP Yuvraj.
The SP has now been posted as Commandant, 1st A.P. Bn, Ligiripukhuri. SP of Charaideo Anand Mishra has now been posted as SP pf Dhubri.
It is mention-worthy that the arrest of the journalist had also led to the sudden death of his 64-year-old ailing father Sudhin Sharma on Thursday.
Sharma was arrested at 2 a.m. on Thursday in connection to reporting against cattle smuggling and syndicate. However, a Dhubri court meanwhile has reportedly granted him an interim bail for 3 days
His arrest has sparked a row in the state. Representatives of Guwahati Press Club, following the arrest, had reportedly requested for CM's intervention in the matter.
