Dhubri: Tortoise Meat Recovered, Five Escape

Police on Wednesday recovered a giant tortoise at the boys club in Dhubri while it was being cut to be cooked and eaten.

The meat was to be distributed among 5 individuals, who fled the scene as soon as police arrived.

The carcass of the tortoise was recovered by the forest department soon after.

The boys club was previously alleged of unethical activities taking place inside its premises and was sealed a long time ago.
