Dibrugarh leopard tranquilized after 12 hours

The leopard that entered a house at Paltanbazar areaof Dibrugarh town on Thursday morning has been tranquilized by the forestofficials in the evening. It took almost 12 hours to tranquilize the animal assources have informed that there was no tranquilizer available with the forestdepartment in Dibrugarh and neighbouring districts.

The leopard has attacked a man on Thursday as it sneakedinto the house at around 9 AM. The injured has been identified as AmmamuddinAhmed. Ammamuddin was immediately rushed to the Assam Medical College andHospital (AMCH) for treatment.

According to Forest department official, the leopardwas later released in Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary.
