Divyang man wins BMW at Howly Raas

In a surprising incident, a divyang man won a BMW at the Howly Raas Mahotsav on Friday. Identified to be Girin Rajbongshi, a man won the BMW in Lottery contest.

According to reports, Girin hails from Purukha village in Tihu under Nalbari district. He is unemployed and belongs to a very poor family.

Girin's wife works as a domestic help in the neighbourhood. After the declaration of the lottery results, the BMW winner, who usually stays at home said, "It is really unbelievable," and thanked god for the miracle.

Since 2006, the lottery contest has become an integral part of the Raas Mahotsav in Howly under Barpeta district and almost all the prizes are cars, informed organisers.

The craze for Howly Raas Lottery among the public is such that the committee allows one person to buy only one ticket, which is priced at Rs. 100, and every year tickets get sold out even before Raas actually starts.
