One of thepopular names in Guwahati, DJ Brahmin has been detained by the Hatigaon policeon accusations of setting a Tata Magic on fire in Bhetapara's Saraighat housingComplex.

Thevehicle, with the registration number AS 13 C 0324, had been parked in front ofthe DJ's residence. The residents of the complex have alleged that he set theTata Magic ablaze after pouring petrol on it. It has also come to light that anold woman is witness to the incident.

Accordingto reports, the vehicle was parked beside the road opposite his residence,which he had asked to be removed from the spot.

The localresidents have also alleged that the DJ was in an intoxicated state during theincident.

Thevehicle, which had been kept beside the road due to alleged failing of insurance,belongs to one Ranu Begum.

However,DJ Brahmin has denied to admit his involvement in the incident.
