Drugs Seized in Dhupdhara, 4 Arrested

The drugs business in the state is increasing at an alarming rate and althoughmany drug smugglers have been arrested by police along with drugs still thesmugglers are supplying the products on daily basis.

On Thursday evening, Dhupdhara police along with locals have arrestedfour youths and seized huge amounts of drug. Police said that many youths inthe area are involved with this business and on receiving information fromlocals they arrested the youths from the area and seized drugs from them.

The youths have been identified as Akhtar Hussain (24), Safikul Alam(29), Nazrul Islam (21) and Sahizuddin Ahmed (23).

According to report, some concerned local youths of Hahchoraborivillage in Dhupdhara have received information of selling illegal drugs by someyouths and caught them red-handed. The local youths recovered Codeine PhosphateTriprolidine Hydrochloride Syrup.

A case has been registered by Dhupdhara Police against the youths underNDPS Act, 1985, Case No 145/19 and later arrested them and sent them to jailthrough the court.
