Earthquake jolts Assam-Arunachal, PM calls Sonowal

An earthquake measuring 5.9 Richter scale had jolted parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh at 1.45 am on Wednesday.

According to reports, the epicentre of the quake was 36 km from Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh.

Although there have been no reports of damage, taking stock of the situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with Chief Minister of Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday morning.
