Election campaigning in full swing in Mizoram

Election campaigns in Mizoram are going on in full swing. Scrutiny of nominations for Champhai North Constituency will be done again today as it was held up on Monday for technical reasons. Scrutiny of nominations papers for rest 39 constituencies have been completed yesterday.

Wednesday is the last date of withdrawal of nominations in the state. Polling will be held on 28th of November. According to  reports the final list of number of Candidates will be clear after tomorrow, as it is the last date of withdrawal of candidature. In this election, 212 Candidates have filed their nominations for 40 seated Assembly polls, among them 15 are women.

On the other side, district election officers are holding review meetings in districts to oversee the measures being taken for voters with disability.

To implement this year's theme 'Accessible Election', election commission will set up ramp in polling stations and provide wheel chairs for bringing the disabled voters to polling booths. Election officials said, Booth Level Officers- BLOs are collecting details of voters with disability from booth level across the state.
