Elephant calf rescued in Numaligarh

An elephant calf got stuck in the mud after it fell down into a drain in Numaligarh. Locals and forest officials are trying to rescue the one and a half year elephant calf.

A video of the elephant calf has also gone viral in the socialmedia which shows that forest officials with the help of the locals are tryingto rescue it using bare hands and spades to dig the mud around the animal. It hasalso been seen in the video that several people are struggling to pull it up. Theelephant calf is expected to weighs between 90-120 kg which is the usual weightof an elephant calf.

The baby elephant which is panicking can also been seenstruggling hard to get out of the sludge with the help of the people. The jointefforts paid off and the calf was finally rescued by the people.
