Eminent lyricist Geeta Hatikakati on Tuesday passed away after prolonged battle with age-related illness. She was 77.

As per reports, Hatikakati was under treatment since a long time. She breathed her last at around 6:46 PM today.

In 2016, she was conferred the Artist award by the Government of Assam for her contribution in the field of music.
