Ex DGP of Assam becomes school teacher after retirement

Pratidin Bureau

Mukesh Sahay, who retired as the DGP of Assam about a month ago, has now become a school teacher. Sahay has started teaching mathematics to Class XII students of Sonaram Higher Secondary School in Guwahati.

"I was aware that the school had no maths teacher at the higher secondary level and so I decided to volunteer to teach the children" the ex DGP said.

"The government gives me a good pension and so it is time for me to give back to society" he added.

It may be mentioned here that Sahay was also a certified police trainer and had taught before.
