First batch Hajj pilgrims to fly today

The first batch of Hajj pilgrims are all set to begin their journey to holy Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims are now being stationed at a temporary camp in Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, where security personnel will check the important documents required for the pilgrimage.

The first batch consists of 3,594 pilgrims, who will fly to Madina in an Air India Flight.

The pilgrims had been taken to LGBI airport by several ASTC buses from Guwahati's Haji Musafir Khana in the morning.

Nekibur Zaman, Working Chairman, North East Hajj Pilgrims Co-ordination committee will officially flag off pilgrimage around 11.30 AM.
