Five-Day Working Week For Sikkim Government Employees

Sikkim's newly elected Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, popularly known as GS Golay, interacting with news reporters and senior government officials on Monday announced a five-day working week for Sikkim government employees.

"We have fulfilled one of our election promises to reduce the working week for government employees from six days earlier to five days," the CM said.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang further announced that he and his council of ministers and every elected MLAs will do away with the Fortuner SUVs that were used by the previous government and instead will use Scorpio vehicles.

"For the time being we have no option but to use Fortuner SUVs, but we will use Scorpio vehicles once they are made available to us," CM Prem Singh Tamang said.
