Flood situation in Barpeta remains grim

As lower Assam is reeling under the second wave of floods, the Barpeta district have been the worst hit among other districts. However, the situation of continues to remain grim.

According to the Barpeta district administration, 659 villages of the district is inundated affecting 11,12,391 people.

Simultaneously, 16,845 hectares of agricultural land has also been submerged under the flooding waters.

41,654people are now sheltered in 114 Relief camps spread across the district,informed the administration.
