Flood wreck havoc in Dhemaji

Amid the tragic outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, a flood caused by high waters in the Gai river in Dhemaji district has destroyed around 30 villages and farmlands have been affected.

The fast-moving streamthat flows down from the hills caused the river Gai to break at least 100metres of the right side of its bank. Due to the monsoons, the river bank overflewwhich led to a flood and a massive loss of property took place.

As a result, vastareas have flooded and several farms and villages have drowned.
