Floods kill 225 animals in Kaziranga National Park

The floods in Assam have always been devastating, with the loss of human lives and property making it an deluge to not look up to for people of the state.

Same has been the fate with animals too, and the residents of Kaziranga National Park (KNP) have been the one more affected out of the State.

According to reports, 225 animals in total have died this year following the second wave of flash floods that hit Assam on Saturday. The park officials inform that around 30% area of Kaziranga still reels under flood water.

The first wave of floods in August had submerged over 70 per cent of the park and led to the death of 105 animals.

"The dead animals include 178 hog deer, 15 rhinos, four elephants and one tiger", KNP Director Satyendra Singh informed IANS.
