Forest dept files case against land grabbers

After incessant reporting over human encroachment on forest land in Maligaon, finally the forest department has lodged an FIR at Gaushala outpost under Jalukbari police station against the illegal land grabbers- the DFO, Kamrup East Division Rajib Baruah informed our reporters.

"It is a fact that there is pressure on forest land.The green cover of the area was under constant attack from human encroachment."- DFO Baruah said.

"The Forest department has been conducting eviction drives from time-to-time in order to clear the encroachments at Maligaon"- Baruah added.
