Former DC Binod Deka arrested

To sanction a bill, former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chirang district Binod Kumar Deka allegedly received an amount of Rs 30,000 as a bribe on March 31, 2017. An FIR regarding the case was lodged at Anti-crime branch (ACB) by Champa Basumotary of Borbori on September 22, 2017.

As per her FIR, the investigation was carried out and on Friday, Binod Kumar Deka has been arrested under Section 7/13(1)(d)(ii)/13(2) PC Act.

The former DC Binod Kumar Deka has now been taken under ACB's custody, following which Deka will be produced before the Special Court on Saturday by ACB.
