Former Education Minister Rupan Singh Ranghang is no more

Former MLA and Minister of 20 No Baithalangshu Legislative constituency in West Karbi Anglong Rupan Singh Ranghang has passed away in Diphu on Monday.

As per reports, he was suffering from old age diseases and was admitted in Diphu Civil hospital for a few days.

Reportedly, Ranghang was born in 1948 at the Voksong and started his educational life in Shillong. Later, he had achieved the MSc. degree with 1st class from Gauhati University in Botany. Then he had joined as the Laison Officer of Coffee Board. He joined politics in 1999 and elected as an MLA from the Baithalangsho legislative constituency from Congress party. In 2003, the Congress party offered him the post of Education Minister of Assam.

However, on Monday, his body has taken to his own residence and his funeral will be done on Tuesday by traditional customs.
