Fraudster exchanges ATM cards to rob a man in Sarthebari

At a time when various new tactics to rob people of their money from ATM's or using an ATM Card is on the rise, report of a similar incident has come to light from Sarthebari on Sunday.

One Jogendra Rai had fallen prey to a fraudster who withdrew the former's money after exchanging ATM cards.

Allegedly, Rai had gone to an ATM to withdraw money when another person, seemingly to offer help, tactically exchanged their ATM cards.

After almost an hour, Rai had received a message from his bank informing him of an amount debited at another location. Receiving the message, Rai rushed to the bank to update his passbook and it was only after that, that he came to know of his ATM card being exchanged and that the accused had robbed him of Rs 3000.

An FIR has been lodged at the police station regarding the incident.
