Even after several marches and protests by various sections of society calling for more protection of women, it has emerged that a girl was allegedly molested in Barpeta town on Tuesday night.
According to reports, a youth named Hafijur Rahman allegedly molested a girl inside the V2 shopping mall in the town. Reportedly, the girl was an employee of the shopping mall.
Meanwhile,the girl has lodged an FIR at the Barpeta Police Station regarding theincident. The girl in her FIR has alleged that Hafijur has molested her aftershe rejected his love proposal.
Policeare currently investigating the incident. There is no word yet as to when thesuspect will be arrested.
