Golaghat: Women Declared COVID+ Without Any Test

Pratidin Bureau

In a bizarre incident, two women were declared COVID-19 positive without conducting any test on them at Merapani in Golaghat.

As learnt, the two women – Phoolmati Basumatary and Sunila Boro – who work as cooks in Joypukhuri Primary School situated in Joypukhuri village were declared positive for the contagion on September 2 by the Golaghat District Health Department.

Interestingly, as part of the State government's mandate, the teachers and staff members of the said school came for mandatory COVID-19 test on August 26. However, Basumatary and Boro couldn't turn up that day due to problems of conveyance.

Despite their absence, they were declared positive the day the test results were announced.

Such carelessness on the part of the Health Department has created a sense of panic and alarm among many sections of people.
