Goodnews for Assam students as the Gauhati High Court (GHC) on Wednesday reducedthe cutoff percentage for appearing in the entrance examination for MBBScourses. Now any students of Science stream with 50 percent marks in HSSLCexamination can appear in the entrance examination for MBBS courses.

TheGHC in a judgement scrapped the Medical College Admission Rule 2017 and saidthat students with 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Englishcan apply and appear in the entrance examination for MBBS courses.

It maybe mentioned here that earlier, only the students with 60 percent aggregated markscould apply and appear in the entrance examination.
