Govt. denies reports of deaths due to hooch consumption

Few days after the country's worst hooch tragedy, three more persons died due to consumption of spurious liquor in Golaghat district on Friday. After Ratul Das and Jitu Das, another one identified to be Kamal Das died after consuming hooch in the district.

However, Golaghat district administration claimed that the persons have died due to other health related issue rather than consumption of hooch. Investigating the deaths, the DC of Golaghat submitted the preliminary report to Excise minister Parimal Suklabaidya.

Meanwhile, the locals in Panikora village in Numaligarh under Golaghat district, where two people died after consuming hooch, said that the claims made by the administration were fake and to hide their failure of controlling the trade of spurious liquor, the administration claimed that the persons have died due to other health related issue rather than consumption of hooch.
