KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi lashed out at the BJP government for revoking Article 370, saying that it was the "murder of democracy" and will serve to only to further "alienate" the people of the region.

The decision is unconstitutional and dictatorial. We thepeople of NE region don't expect such illogical, autocratic policies from a government"he said.

"The passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is on the perspective. Such types of dictatorial policies may fall upon us too. We don't know when crisis will fall upon us", said Gogoi.

"Centre will soon look the scrap the Article 371A to 371G,which give special constitutional safeguards to the people of Northeast India": Gogoi added.
