Guwahati: 6 detained for drug trafficking

TheGuwahati police on Saturday night detained six individuals in connection withdrug trafficking over the past several days. The police also recovered hugeamount contraband items from them.

Actingon a tip of, the Gitanagar Police carried a search operation at a residence inNabin Nagar area to nab the drug traffickers. The detainees were identified asAmar Singh, his son Rabi Singh, Dip Chetri, Binod Barma, Mrinmoy Mishra and BishalSingh.

Theoperation was led by Chandmari ACP Chidananda Bora. "We have detained sixindividuals, who were systematically trafficking as well asselling drugs in the city," said a police officer. Police also said that theyhave seized 37 containers of Heroin the detainees.
