Guwahati: Assam Govt Aims to Vaccinate the Citizens 100% by August 30

The Assam government aims to vaccinate 100 percent citizens of Guwahati by August 30 as the city continues to report over 100 cases daily.

Addressing a press conference here in Guwahati today, Health & Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta said that the government will prepare a list of the people who are not yet vaccinated. The process will start from today for three days. The state government will collect voters' list from 1204 voting centres and will prepare the list to vaccinate the people, the health minister said.

He further stated that the COVID-19 cases have declined in other districts of the state except Kamrup (M) and to control the cases, the government has set the target to vaccinate the people by August 30.

The Health department has also launched a helpline number. Citizens of Guwahati can give a missed call at this number 8929103776 and they will be informed on the availability of the vaccines in the particular vaccine centre.

The health minister further stated that the shopping mall owners will also have to display a banner in front of their particular shops that the staffs are fully vaccinated.
