Guwahati: Last Rites of Murdered Elderly Couple Performed

The last rites of the elderly couple who were brutally murdered in Guwahati's Beltola area, was performed today at Nabagraha crematorium. The elderly couple were allegedly murdered by the house help, who has been arrested by the police.


Family, friends and close relatives were present in the crematorium for the rituals. The two daughters of Baruah couple were present to perform the last rites. They gave fire to the funeral pyre in a last act of farewell.


The elderly couple, Noni Gopal Baruah (87) and Mina Baruah (76), was brutally murdered on Monday night. The house help, Akash Choudhury and his wife, along with two other-Satyendra Singh and Paresh Choudhury are in police custody in connection with the case.
