In view of the rising water level, presently above the warning level, and heavy current as well as floating logs and other submerged materials in the river Brahmaputra, operation of all departmental boats and vessels in the Guwahati-based ferry services under Inland Water Transport Divison (IWTD) are restricted up to 6:45 pm (day time only) from Thursday (June 110 until further order, an IWTD release stated on Wednesday.

The officers In-charges of the ferry ghats are requested to remain vigilant regarding the maintenance/Mooring, securing of boats/vessels, etc. under IWT Assam, the notice added.
