Guwahati to face another lockdown if situation worsens

Pratidin Bureau

Kamrup Metro has witnessed 2741 COVID-19 positive cases in the last 10 days. All the cases had no travel history. Moreover, nearly 800 positive cases were detected in Guwahati alone on Saturday, making it the biggest spike thus far.

In such an alarming backdrop, Guwahati may face another lockdown if the situation doesn't improve. This was suggested by Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing the press on Sunday, adding that the subsequent decision regarding the lockdown will be taken on either next Wednesday or Thursday.

Sarma also informed during the press meet that 125 positive cases have been found in Guwahati so far on Sunday. They were found positive when subjected to Rapid Antigen Tests.
