The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorm in isolated areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura in the next two days.

It may be mentioned here that a thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning was reported from Sikkim on Friday.

Assam, along with other states of the northeast, are likely to experience more showers marking an onset for the monsoons in the next 24 hours.
