Heavy rains in Northeast may trigger flood like situation

Many parts of Northeast India including the states of Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura recently witnessed intense flood which had wreaked havoc in the region. However, the flood situation has improved now.

As per the latest Skymet Weather, heavy rains are likely in the Northeast between July 01 and 05, which may trigger flood like situation in the northeastern states.

Presently, Southwest Monsoon has covered entire India. A cyclonic circulation under the influence of a Western Disturbance will result in the upward shift of the Monsoon trough, close to the foothills right from Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, Sub Himalayan West Bengal up to Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

This shall lead to heavy rains in isolated areas of the Northeastern region starting July 01, which will be heavier on July 03 and 04.
