At a time when the entire when there is a widespread sensation over the running of the alleged supari syndicate (betel nut) in and around the Kamrup District, the Gauhati high court on Tuesday directed Excise department to probe into the seizure of 25 trucks laden with illegal Burmese supari.

Earlier, Jalukbari Police had seized at least 25 trucks laden with illegal Burmese supari. Meanwhile, the drivers of the trucks alleged that there was a high-profile lobby involved in the case.
