Pratidin Bureau

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday filed a Rs 100 crore defamation lawsuit against national news channel ABP News.

The lawsuit has been filed before the Civil Judge, Senior Division, Kamrup.

It may be mentioned here that ABP News on Tuesday had aired 'Operation Dalal', a news report, that exposed a certain raid by Income tax department on May 27 at Delhi based middleman and power broker Anuj Poddar's house.

The report revealed hidden relation between Anuj Poddar and Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

However, Himanta Biswa Sarma has denied all allegations and filed a Rs 100 crore lawsuit against the channel.
