Pratidin Bureau

BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma lashed out at Kokrajhar MP Naba Kumar Sarania, who is an independent candidate with the support of OBoro Suraksha Samity  while attending the electioneering campaign for BPF candidate Pramila Rani Brahma at Kalipukri in Kokrajhar for his divisive and communal politics.

The finance minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma said Naba Kr Sarania raises ST status issue only when election comes but remains silent when in power. Continuing his tirade, Himanta further stated, "Sarania is now raising the issue of bestowing ST status on six communities of Assam. He remained silent in the last five years and failed to raise the issue in the floor of Parliament even once."

"Naba Kumar Sarania could not ensure security to the people of the region who himself has fear of being arrested for his several pending criminal cases in different police stations", said Himanta Biswa Sarma. He also added that  Sarania wanted to be MP just for his safety and security but not for the interest of people.
