IED blast in Manipur kills two jawans, injuring three civilians

A powerful blast in Manipur's capital Imphal has claimed lives of two BSF jawans, leaving three civilians injured on Wednesday. No militant group has claimed the responsibility of the attack as of now.

According to PTI reports, the blast had been triggered by an IED around 2 pm. The BSF men were deployed outside the gate of their Koirengi sector headquarters camp, on the Dimapur-Imphal highway in Imphal when the blast occurred.

The two constable rank jawans, injured in the blast were taken to the RIMS Hospital, who later succumbed to their injuries. The two jawans have been identified as Riflemen NN Meitei, 30, and Sanjay Tirki, 28.

The injured civilians were identified as H Mubi, 35, Bindya Thakuri, 19 and M Premlata, 40, who is reportedly in a critical condition.
