IFFI to pay tribute to Biju Phukan

The International Film Festival of India will pay their tributes to famous Assamese actor Biju Phukan. On the occasion of its Golden Jubilee celebration, the IFFI has decided to screen Biju Phukan starrer 'Aparoopa' during the 50th edition of the festival from November 20 to November 28.

According to IFFI authorities, the 1982 Jahnu Barua-directed film will be screened on 21st November. "As per convention, we would be paying Homage to the most iconic gems of Indian cinema in remembrance of their exemplary contribution to Indian cinema. In this connection, IFFI is paying tribute to Late Shri Biju Phukan with the screening of the film 'APAROOPA' acted by him," read a statement by the IFFI.

Meanwhile, the IFFI has invited Rajashri Phukan, the wifeof the late actor, to attend the screening of the film.

It may be mentioned here that apart from Biju Phukan, the film also featured Girish Karnad, Suhasini Mulay, and Sushil Goswami.
