In an operation under police inspector Ashima Kalita, Baksa police on Thursday night busted an illegal liquor racket and also seized TT Injection from Amar Chowk area of the district.

The illegal liquor was seized from a local grocery shop.

Apart from the liquor, police also seized illegally stored petrol, diesel, and kerosene.

Police informed that around 15 cartons beer, 25 cartons whiskey along with 1000 liters of petrol and diesel were seized from the shop.

Police informed that the seized substance is worth around Rs 1 to 2 lakh.

However, before they could be arrested, the owner of the shop Santosh Pradhan and his family members managed to flee.
