India Will Give A Tough Challenge: Lakhya Konwar

Member Secretary of Sports and Youth Welfare, Department of Assam,Lakhya Konwar on Wednesday said that India will give a tough challenge to Oman seeingthe environment of Guwahati in the qualifying match between India and Oman tobe held at Sarusajai Stadium on September 5.

Addressing a press conference, Konwar said that encouraging ticketshave been sold for the match and that 65 percent of tickets have been sold outboth through online and offline mode.

Konwar also said that people from outside the state will also come towatch the match. The Chief Minister also takes stock of the match and that hewill visit the stadium on Wednesday to take stock of everything.

He further informed that the coach of Indian team has expressed satisfactionafter examining the stadium himself.

Konwar also stated that the captain of the Indian team will also hold adiscussion with the sports department of Assam government and will talk about aweek long practice session in the stadium.   The teamwill also organize a camp in Guwahati and players from different academy willbe able to watch the matches.
