Indigenous Assamese Are Not Opposing New NRC: HBS

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma raised a question as to who are the persons who don't want the new National Register of Citizens (NRC) adding that the actual Assamese people are not opposing.

Sarma said that the people who are opposing the new NRC are people likeRockybul Hussain, Badaruddin Ajmal.

He further reiterated that there has been a massive irregularity at the expense of NRC and CAG will submit a report shortly.

Speaking about Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), the minister said thatit will be implemented in the ongoing session of the Parliament. He said thatthe organizations will have a discussion on the issue with the Union HomeMinister Amit Shah on November 29 and 30.

Reacting to the ban on Gutka, the minister said that the people should cooperate with the decision of the government.
