Pratidin Bureau

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced the final list of 541 participants who will be featuring in 37 sports events in the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia.

Athletics is expected to be the most participated field for India, with 51 participating players, followed by hockey with 36 players. India is sending a 20 member team for badminton and a 10 member team for table tennis in this edition of the Asian Games.

Assam's Hima Das, who scripted history on July 12 by becoming the first Indian to win gold in an international track event, will also be seen participating in the tournament. Das is slated to participate in the women's 200 metres and 400 metres heats.

Her name has been pulled from mixed team relay because of scheduling conflicts, according to national coach Basant Singh. Coach Basant Singh has also expressed that there is a strong chance that Hima Das might improve her personal records by breaking the 51 second barrier for 400 metres and 23 second barrier for 200 metres .

The 18th edition of the Asian Games is scheduled to take place in Jakarta and Palembang in Indonesia from August 18 to September 2.
