Is AGP Doing Right? Will Tell…Not In Media : Mahanta

Pratidin Bureau

There has been discontent within the AGP ranks over its tie-up with the BJP for the Lok Sabha polls because of the latter's support to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. Several leaders and workers, including former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, have openly criticised this decision.

To quell dissidence in the party, AGP top leaders organised a meeting in Ambari party HQ on Tuesday.  In the beginning, all the 13 leaders of the party were present except the former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta.

However, after a long wait Mahantareached AGP HQ and took part in the meeting.

Mahanta said: "AGP's frontal bodies decided to oppose the Citizenship Bill in party meeting. Party will decide whether I broke discipline or not? Is AGP doing right ? will tell in party meeting, not in media."
