ISL 2018: NEUFC holds FC Goa 2-2

Pratidin Bureau

In an open-ended Hero Indian Super League (ISL) high voltage match of Monday night at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai, the Highlanders North East United FC played a 2-2 draw against FC Goa.

Ferran Corominas (14', 38') bagged both goals for the visitors while Federico Gallego (8') and Bartholomew Ogbeche (53') were the scorers for the hosts. After a stop-start first few minutes, the hosts were gifted a goal after a terrible error from 18-year-old Mohammad Nawaz who was handed an ISL debut. The Goa custodian charged out of his box and handled the ball in the belief that Bartholomew Ogbeche was offside.

It was an entertaining match after a cracking start for the Highlanders with a happy lead but it didn't last long as Coro leveled things quickly.
