Jamugurihat Boat Accident: 1 Still Missing

One person still missing in the boat accident that took place on Thursday afternoon at Jiabharali River in Jamugurihat.

Although the Sonitpur district administration has prohibited the boatservice from Makua Ghat to Panchmile in Tezpur following the incident but stillthe locals resumed the boat service on Friday by disobeying the rules andregulations of the administration.

The locals alleged that if the ghats will be closed down then there will be a massive problem for more than 30,000 commuters and that they will be deprived of the facilities. The locals also demanded the administration to open the ghats for the convenience of the public.

It may be mentioned that the boat service in these ghats were running illegally without the permission of the administration.

However, the team of SDRF has continued their rescue operation torescue one Taijot Ali who was still missing since Thursday.
