Japanese Encephalitis Claims Another Two

On the one hand, it is flood and on the other, it is Japanese Encephalitis which has left the state in a disaster as 11 lives have been claimed in flood while the death toll due to the mosquito bite disease has increased to 78 till July 15.

It seems like thestate has been under curse since few days as both flood and JE claims manylives within a few days.

On Monday, twocases of Japanese Encephalitis death have been reported from Narayanpur inDibrugarh and Barpeta.

One Upen Chandra Gohain who was undergoing treatment in Assam Medical College and Hospital at Dibrugarh has breathed his last in the wee hours of Monday.

Meanwhile, another person Liyakat Ali (70) from Barpeta has died of JE. Ali was undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

According to healthofficials, 348 positive cases of JE have been registered till July 14 andKamrup is the worst hit districts so far with 10 deaths.
