A minor child fell into a septic tank of a half constructed public toilet in Jorhat on Saturday.

The incident occurred at the Borubachari Ali old bus station in the town.

The minor was rescued by a youth and police personnel and has been admitted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital. The child reportedly is in a critical state.

It has been reported the incident took place while two women got into a fight.
