A forest ranger based in Kaziranga was killed in a road accident that took place in Kaliabor's Rangaloo area on Saturday.
The deceased ranger, who was identified as one Jewel Singh Terron, was hit by an army vehicle, killing him on the spot.
Singh was a member of the 2nd Assam Forest Protection Force.
Meanwhile, police seized the army vehicle and is currently looking into the matter.
