Kamakhya body recovery: Police yet to trace the head

Makinga mockery of the security arrangements at the Kamakhya temple, a beheaded bodyof a woman was found in Nilachal Hills on Wednesday evening, barely 48 hoursbefore the annual Ambubachi Mela. Head of the body is still missing.

Morethan 14 hours have been passed, when some locals spotted the headless bodylying near the staircase leading to the Joy Durga temple, but the Assam policeare still tracing the head. They have not been able to detain any suspectsinvolved in the incident.

"Itis difficult to make any comment as of now. We have started investigation.Search is on to trace the head," police said while refusing to divulge muchabout the incident.

It may be mentioned here that there were more than 200 CCTV cameras installed in the Kamakhya temple premises. The police have yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased.

The four-day long Ambubachi Mela will be started from June 22 at Kamakhya temple.
